How to manage your team in Dropbox Dash
The information in this article applies to admins on Dropbox Dash teams.
If you’re an admin on a Dropbox Dash team, you can invite or remove team members, as well as assign licenses to them in the admin console.
To access the admin console:
- Log in to dash.ai with your admin credentials.
- Click Account in the left sidebar.
- Click Admin console.
How to manage and assign licenses to new members
You can also assign licenses to team members for different products in the admin console.
To assign or remove licenses:
- Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
- Click Members.
- Find the team member you’d like to assign or remove licenses for.
- Click ① (add) or ② (edit) under Products.
- Click ① Assign or ③ Remove next to the product you’d like to assign or remove a license for.
- Click Confirm.
Note: The team member won’t receive an email notification when their license is removed, but they’ll see a message that says they don’t have access if they attempt to use that product.
How to invite team members
To invite new members:
- Log in to dash.ai with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
- Click Members.
- Click Invite members.
- Enter the email addresses for the members you’d like to invite.
- Click Invite.
Notes:
- If you invite a member directly from dash.ai, a Dash license will be automatically assigned to them.
- If you invite a member through the admin console, you’ll need to click Add products on the confirmation popup to assign either a Dash or Dropbox license to that member.
How to remove team members
When you delete a team member's account, several things happen:
- The team member receives an email notifying them that an admin deleted their account and that they no longer have access.
- An admin will need to transfer the team member’s content, including stacks, to another member.
Note: The team member won’t be able to create another Dropbox account with the same email address for 7 days after deletion. However, if the member's file content is transferred to another team member during deletion, the same email address can be used immediately.
To remove a team member:
- Log in to dash.ai with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
- Click Members.
- Locate the member whose account you want to remove. You can use the search bar or scroll through the list of members.
- Click ☑ (more options) next to the member's name and select Delete Member.
- Click ☑ (more options) next to the member’s name, then select Delete Member.
- A confirmation window with options for transferring the member’s stacks and content will appear.
- Choose when to transfer the team member’s stacks and content:
- Click Transfer Now to transfer their content immediately, then enter another team member’s email address who should inherit the content.
- Click Transfer Later to choose later. Learn more details about how to transfer files from a deleted team member.
